フリスピからRukia、Nika、Musica、Princeが大阪遠征！オールスタイルバトルのTHE REALに参戦してきました。
Nikaはバトル経験はあっても6歳、Rukiaは初めてのバトル参戦。
大きな目的は、初心者バトル6歳以下部門への挑戦。
6歳以下初心者部門のあるTHEREALは、ちゃんと学びを得られる環境だろうと思っての挑戦でした。
そして、オーディションやセッションよりも「バトルがいい」とこだわりのある2人には願ったり叶ったりの環境でもあります。
大きな意義を得られるTHE REALへ照準を定めて、2018年末から特訓していました。
バトルの結果はRukiaが負けたDancerにNikaも惜敗。緊張しながらもよく頑張ったと思います。
悔しがる表情やあいさつする姿、ジャッジにコメントを一生懸命聞きに行く姿に、イントラたちは後ろから涙しそうになりました。
そして、初めての参加のRukia,Nikaを名前を呼んで応援してくれる大阪の空気にも大感動。ありがとうございます。
初心者バトルにエントリーしたRukia,Nikaはほぼ最年少ながらもフリースタイルKids&Jr部門にもエントリー。
3サークルに分かれての予選では、より互いの熱量を感じる距離でバトルすることができ、2人ともいつも通り、いつも以上のフィーリングを出すことができました。
年上のダンサーたちが相手でしたが、臆せず自分しかできないオンリーワンのフリースタイルを見せることができました。
1年後、もしここに戻ってきたらすごいビーストなダンスをかませるはずとこちらが楽しみになりました😊
MCからも応援をいただき、バトルを本当に楽しめた時間でした。
さらにKids&Jr部門は、敗者復活戦というABDC戦があり、初のセッション形式のジャッジによるピックアップサイファーを経験。
周りのダンサーが続々と出て行く中、２人は初めての経験で、戸惑ったかな？
踊りたい曲、他のダンサーとのタイミングの駆け引き、心理戦をしながら、いろんな人のダンスを見て、場の経験則を積んだと思います。
さて、一般としてFreestyle Conceptレッスンに参加しているMUZICAは、バトル参戦3度目。初心者バトルと、一般部門にWエントリーしました。
たくさんの観客がいる中踊り、負けちゃっても「もうダンスをやめる。明日再開する」と超ポジティブ思考。今後が楽しみです。
4,5歳もいれば50代のエントリーもいて、すごくダンス愛を感じるTHE REALの空間。また鍛えてチャレンジしたいです。
バトル前夜は大阪に到着後、ダンススタジオGoodiesにて、Reikiiiさんのレッスンに参加させていただきました。
カラダの細かな動きを練習した後、ひたすらSession!! 自分のダンスを動画で確認しながら、STOPの動きや、もっと磨きをかけられるムーブや、音取りを確認。
そして、Goodiesメンバーのダンスからもたくさんのインスピレーションをいただきました。
THEREALでの優勝経験もあるというReikiiiにバトルでのアドバイスももらった2人。
たった2日の遠征でしたが、中身がぎゅっと詰まった内容の濃い大阪遠征となりました。
この大阪遠征のために約２カ月、一番のサポーターである保護者のみなさんと話し合って環境を作っていったり、Princeもレッスンを組んだり、世界中のダンサーから動画をセレクトしたり、音楽を送ったり。
本人、イントラ、保護者のチームワークで頑張りました。コミュニケーションの取れるみなさんとの関係に大感謝。
私たちもこの経験を起点にまたできるインストラクション・指導があります。フリスピ全体を持ち上げていく刺激的な環境づくりもあります。
このバトルを経て、どんな方針を築いていくのかはまた次回、紹介します。

Hello everyone! At the beginning of February, four FreeSpirit members traveled to Osaka, mainland Japan to enter “THEREAL” ALL Styles Dance Battle.
Why did we travel all the way to Osaka?
FreeSpirit members Nika and Rukia love battling rather than sessions. Nika is still only 6 years old, and Rukia was battling for the first time. So, our goal was to challenge the Under 6yo Beginner’s Category battle.
THEREAL was the perfect event to challenge. We trained for this event for two months in hopes we would achieve good results. However, at the battle, both Rukia and Nika lost to the same girl dancer (the winner of the event). Although they were nervous, they could perform well for being beginners. As we watched our students’ regrettable faces as they bowed to the audience, and later ask the judges for advice on how to improve, we were filled with proud emotion.
Rukia and Nika also decided to challenge the Jr. Category as well (7yo and above). Three separate circles were made for one on one battles with one judge judging each circle. The duo were paired against older dancers, however, they didn’t back down and faced their adversaries with courage! They lost the 2nd battle, but were motivated to train hard to win next time.
There was also the ABDC Revenge Challenge cypher circle, in which dancers who didn’t make the Top 8 would be able to dance again in a cypher, and if picked, would be able to challenge for a spot in the Top 8. Since it was their first time in the cypher battle format they weren’t able to make a definitive impression. But through this experience, they now know how to dance in cyphers.
Muzika, who takes the Freestyle Concept lessons, entered the Beginner’s category and Adult category at the battle. Although he lost both rounds, he gained a great deal of experience.
The various ages of competiters at this event ranged from as young as 6 to as old as over 50! We were able to feel and understand the passion they had for dance.
We will be sure to challenge this event again!
The night before the battle we went to L.O-3 member Reiki’s lesson. Nika and Rukia trained and had a recorded session where Reiki would give advice and critique their dance.
Overall this trip was very valuable and meaningful for the students. Thank you parents for your support and thank you kids for always trying your best.
Starting now Prince will change his teaching methods at FreeSpirit, to help better improve the students’ skills at a higher and faster level while giving more creative freedom to his students.
